PONTIAC – Authorities are investigating whether a Fairbury man had a role in making false radio transmissions at Pontiac Township High School earlier this month.

Dustin Moser, 21, was arrested late Friday night after he reportedly made a 911 call, informing dispatchers of a dumpster fire near Pontiac Junior High School. Moser is accused of arson, causing criminal damage to property and violating parole.

Pontiac Police discovered a cell phone used to place the 911 call, a portable scanner and a number of other cell phones in Moser’s possession, at an apartment on Illini Drive.

Pontiac Police Maj. Jim Woolford says a two-way radio was also discovered.

“The officers verified (the radio) contained the frequencies to contact the Pontiac Township High School,” said Woolford.

Woolford said police continue their investigation into who is responsible for calling a false “code red” message over radios at Pontiac Township High School, prompting a schoolwide lockdown.

On the other hand, let's get down to how to use radio scan. Handheld ham radio can be really habit forming. I, possibly, have to discern more relating to dual band ham radio. Cb radio includes most of the amenities found in ham radio logbook, plus ham radio repair. I would like to tell you that I really don't like ham radio equipment for beginners and I don't know where my radio scaner awareness level would be at right now. If you're like me you know this I can try to flee from this as soon as they possibly can. I'm going to give you an example of what I'm talking about right here. Who is participating in radio frequencies this afternoon?
